Spring 2012 Trend: Wild Things
Saturday, February 18th, 2012
As a number of designers’ spring collections seem to have been inspired by a safari, bright, tribal prints and earthy neutrals are moving out of Africa. To get the look, work casual khaki shorts and linen button-downs–but be sure to incorporate color; neon, graphic prints and solid yellows, greens and pinks pair perfectly. The trend is already in stores, so get to shopping; this season, it’s the only suitable answer to the call of the wild.

Buy Now: What to Wear & Want This Valentine’s Day
Saturday, February 11th, 2012
Whether or not you have a Valentine, you deserve primo gifts this year–even if you have to buy them for yourself! Ask your other half to “surprise” you with flirty fuschia pumps, or buy a candy-apple-hued mini for your planned girls’ night out. Either way, be sure to commemorate February 14 by loading-up on all things pink and red. Unlike some dates of Valentines’ past, you’re bound to love them for years to come…

Trending Now: Classic-Cute Polka Dots
Saturday, January 28th, 2012
We were stoked to find that, for spring, designers didn’t decide to ditch the hot-for-fall trend of head-to-toe polka-dots. In fact, it seems dots are one of their most favored details for next season. Decorating everything from lightweight sweaters and skirts to handbags and heels, polka-dots are already in stores galore–so you can shop the trend now, and wear your sweet-and-retro pieces through summer. Pair them with a solid, or–like us–opt to mix your speckled prints; playing connect the dots has never been more fun!

Blogger of the Week: Jess Tran of Jess Loves Fred
Friday, January 13th, 2012
Ever since we discovered Jess Tran–the 18-year-old PR/advertising student and fashion blogger from Sydney–we have been motivated to trade-in every basic piece in our wardrobes for clothing and accessories that are decidedly bold. From her asymmetrical haircut to her signature statement necklaces and colorful sunnies, there’s nothing boring about the self-professed thrift store junkie’s feminine-cool style. We love her knack for both working loud prints, and pairing unlikely looks–including multiple polka-dotted pieces, and sundresses with borrowed-from-the-boys loafers. We’re also fans of the fact that a number of her cutest buys are Etsy and eBay finds. Like Jess, we’d bid on a leopard print clutch any day…

Blogger of the Week: Nadia Sarwar of FrouFrouu
Friday, January 6th, 2012
Longtime fans of London-based Nadia Sarwar, the fashion blogger behind FrouFrouu, we have recently been frequenting her site more often than usual–on a mission to stay true to one of our New Year’s resolutions: to “look put-together, 24/7″. As we’ve never seen Nadia stray from her recipe for style perfection–which seems to call for a hat, sunglasses, granny boots and ankle-skimming layers–we’ve made her our current muse. We love her knack for meshing vintage pieces, menswear and ample accessories–and plan to follow her lead by fine-tuning our own looks in 2012. First order of business: Out with shoes we’d never want to be photographed wearing; in with a number of fresh boots (including “granny” styles, natch), pumps and platforms..

Winter Trend: Color Blocking
Saturday, December 10th, 2011
The Fall/Winter 2011 runways read like a block party, as designers aplenty chose to reveal a variety of color-blocked pieces. As yellow mingled with baby blue and pink paired with orange, it became clear that sharp contrasts would define the new season’s “chic”. We love the trend, and have been working styles with built-in panels of sorts all season. From cardigans and coats to pashminas and pumps, the favorites among our latest purchases appear pieced-together like puzzles. Putting together our daily outfits has never been more fun!

Holiday Trend: Winter White
Saturday, December 3rd, 2011
We are definitely dreaming of a white Christmas. While snow is nice, we’re actually talking about the on-trend pieces we’re hoping to receive (and give, of course) this holiday season. On our wish lists are boots, handbags, coats and more–all in the shade designers are loving for winter: white. Not only will our new looks complement the Christmas snow (fingers crossed!), but–as our current choice shade is a classic–we can wear the pieces for seasons to come (that is, if we’re careful with our Christmas cookies–chocolate and white is a risky combination!)…

Winter 2011 Trend: Golden Delicious
Saturday, November 19th, 2011
Gone are the days during which black and gray defined fashion’s most popular winter palette. This year, shades of tan are dominating, and–thanks to designers turning out slews of covetable bags, boots, coats and more in a number of nude-to-camel shades–we will definitely be working the trend. Getting tan for the holidays has never sounded so good…
Blogger of the Week: Olivia Lopez of Lust for Life
Friday, November 11th, 2011
Though only 19-years-old, Los Angeles-based Olivia Lopez can already claim a truly-impressive resume, and wardrobe. When not modeling, traveling the world or running her own online shop–The Caravan, which is dangerous territory for anyone with a weakness for vintage clothes, statement shades or unique accessories–she’s posting personal style pics on her popular blog, Lust for Life.
While her colorful platforms, covetable sunnies and bold handbags first caught our attention, our closer look at her Lust for Life posts revealed that Olivia’s killer look is the result of our favorite recipe: mixing vintage finds with designer goods and easy-to-score pieces from such stores as American Apparel, Topshop and Target. Clearly, she has a lust for shopping, too…
